Financial Counseling

"In our first meeting," explains Money Focus facilitator Dawn Hutton, "we discuss financial goals; identify strengths and challenges; and make a plan to move forward. Getting control over your financial life can be intimidating in the beginning. So we move at the pace each person is comfortable with. We look at the obvious, like 'Where does my money go?' but also at a woman's relationship with money and what it represents in her life.

"Women often come in feeling hopeless and end the sessions empowered to take control of their money," states Ms Hutton. "It's an incredibly gratifying program to work with."

Are you anxious about money? Do things feel out of control? Are you letting your mail pile up, unopened? Have things gotten to the point of embarrassment or... dare we say, shame?

Get a handle on your personal finances at The Women's Center, in an atmosphere that is accepting, supportive, and kind. Our financial experts recognize that money can be a significant stressor in women's lives. Many of us struggle with not having enough; not knowing what to do with it when we have it; and not knowing how to make it work for us when we do.

Our knowledgeable consultant, Mark Erskine, is available for individual financial counseling appointments during specific times each week.  Lynn Borset sometimes has daytime appointments available.  The cost is $10 per session, with reduced fees available.
