HONOREE
Marnie Leavitt, LMSW
Marnie Leavitt, a dedicated social worker, is passionate about improving women’s and girl’s health, especially mental health symptoms prompted by poverty and discrimination. During her 22 years at The Women’s Center, Marnie took on multiple roles: therapist, writer, website developer, Clinical Director, Executive Director, and even bathroom-floor-mopper. She developed and implemented the trauma-treatment curriculum for graduate student interns who staff the Soundings counseling program. Working alongside a loyal supervisory team, Marnie tripled the capacity of this program during her tenure at The Center.
Following the passage of the Affordable Care Act, in 2015 Marnie also launched a complementary psychotherapy program, Room To Talk, for folks who were newly-eligible for Medicaid and other health care plans. “Our team believes that everyone deserves mental health care, regardless of status,” she says.
Marnie believes in fostering a culture of transparency, support, and collaboration. She is an advocate of a flat organizational structure where every voice is valued, and decision-making is shared. She sees leadership as a collective effort, ensuring that everyone has a role in shaping a more inclusive and effective system of care.
Marnie feels fortunate to be part of a learning community and has created a supportive culture where therapists, volunteers and staff work together to challenge barriers that get in the way of whole-person health. “This work is proof that ‘the personal is political,’” she reflects. “Everyone benefits when we put relationships first.”

Marley is a dynamic improvisational performer who thrives on creating spontaneous, heartfelt, and laugh-out-loud moments with her fellow performers and audiences alike. You may have seen her onstage as a resident cast member at Pointless Brewery and Theatre or Hear.Say, or hosting bingo nights in character as Carol of the iconic duo Carol and Cheryl. Marley is also deeply committed to her community as the Operations and Communications Manager at The Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan, a role she has held since 2021.
Marley is thrilled to emcee The Women's Center's Spring Soirée, an evening of laughter, inspiration, and celebration as we come together to honor and support 25 years of The Women's Center's incredible work in our community!

Sreyashi is a licensed clinical social worker who brings a range of experiences to her practice. Sreyashi received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and in parallel, earned a Graduate Certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Previously, she earned Master’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration, and had a career in marketing and market research consulting. Sreyashi is also a performing artist (Indian classical dancer) and an arts producer. She has founded three non-profit organizations, in the areas of global health and the arts. However, connecting deeply with people and supporting them through their challenges is her calling, and she feels honored to be a part of her clients’ healing journeys as a therapist.
Sreyashi has an eclectic approach to therapy, thoughtfully drawing from several scientific and evidence-based modalities. As a South Asian Indian immigrant herself, she has a strong culturally informed approach to her work. Sreyashi believes in using a trauma-informed lens to understand her clients’ challenges, and a strengths-based approach to support them in processing, coping and healing. She has a special interest in using somatic/body-based techniques in working with trauma, including aspects of dance movement therapy and mindfulness meditation.
